The hidden half-life of a promotional rate.

A promotional rate has two dimensions: size and duration. The larger number gets attention, but the expiration logic often determines the real value.

Think in weighted time

If a higher rate applies briefly and then drops, the average experience over a year may be very different from the headline.

Read for transition language

Look for phrases such as introductory period, variable after opening, subject to change, or rate available through a specific date.
