Field note 03

Liquidity has a cost—even without a lockup.

An account can be technically liquid while still being operationally inconvenient. Transfer timing, holds, transaction limits, and linking rules all shape access.

Access is part of the product

For emergency savings or near-term expenses, a small difference in yield may matter less than reliable access and clear rules.

Measure friction

Ask how long withdrawals take, whether outbound transfers are limited, and whether support is available when a transfer is delayed.
